Position Overview

Duchesne Academy seeks a compassionate, collaborative, and highly skilled School Psychologist to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students across grade levels (Pre-K through 12). The School Psychologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results to identify learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and parents to develop and implement support plans, including behavior intervention plans and learning accommodations.

  • Serve as a key member of the Student Support Team to assist with early intervention strategies and problem-solving approaches.

  • Provide short-term counseling to students individually or in small groups to support emotional well-being and social skills development.

  • Assist with crisis intervention, including risk assessments and referrals to outside professionals as needed.

  • Consult with faculty and staff on best practices in classroom management, mental health, and differentiated instruction.

  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives related to mental health, wellness, and equity.

  • Maintain confidential records and documentation in accordance with professional ethics and school policies.

  • Stay current with research, trends, and best practices in school psychology and child development.

Job requirements

  1. Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or related field.

  2. Current license or certification as a School Psychologist in the state of Texas (or eligible for licensure).

  3. Experience in a school setting preferred, particularly in an independent or faith-based environment.

  4. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  5. Commitment to the mission and values of the Sacred Heart Network, including the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education.

  6. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and support a positive school culture.
